API Comparator
Privacy Policy
This policy explains the limited information API Comparator processes when you use the service.
Effective September 3, 2026
API comparison data
The URLs, methods, headers, request bodies, and API responses used in a comparison are processed to produce the result. API Comparator does not intentionally save this comparison data in its application database.
Abuse prevention
To enforce request limits, the service converts your network address into a one-way SHA-256 hash and stores that hash with a request count and timestamps. Stale rate-limit records older than about 24 hours are removed as service traffic continues.
Hosting logs
The hosting and infrastructure providers may process standard technical information, such as network addresses, request details, device information, and security logs, to deliver and protect the service. Their retention and handling practices are controlled by those providers.
Analytics and consent
With your permission, API Comparator uses Google Analytics to understand visits and feature usage. Google Analytics may process page views, interactions, approximate location, and browser or device information and may set cookies. Analytics does not receive the API URLs, headers, request bodies, or response data you compare. Analytics remains off until you accept, and you can change your choice through “Privacy settings” in the footer.
Local storage and advertising
The site stores your analytics choice in your browser’s local storage. Advertising spaces are currently placeholders; no advertising network is active, so those spaces do not currently collect data for ad targeting. This policy will be updated before an ad provider is enabled.
Sensitive information
Do not submit confidential, personal, or production credentials. Headers you enter are transmitted to the API endpoint you specify. Authorization is removed if a request redirects to a different origin, but you remain responsible for ensuring that you are authorized to send the data.
Changes
This policy may be updated when the service or its providers change. The effective date above identifies the current version.
